Something Toto

Several of my CDs are greatest hits and on these I have often heard great songs for the first time. Such is the case with a song by Toto called Georgy Porgy. It was a single on their debut self titled album back in 1978. It was written by David Paich who wrote several of Toto's most famous songs including Rosanna and Hold the Line, he also co-wrote Africa. The female backing vocalist on Georgy Porgy is Cheryl Lynn. David Paich also co-wrote Cheryl's hit single Got To Be Real with Cheryl and David Foster. Does anyone remember that song in both the film Paris Is Burning and also a fab episode of Sex In The City that made us all love the show a little bit more?
Here's Toto with Georgy Porgy, a song that still sounds gorgeous 32 years later.

David, that Toto cover is hideous! Oh, the 70s/early 80s "space" covers were sooo cheesy! I do love "Africa" and "Rosanna" though.

Lol! Yuri, I love it when not everybody loves the songs I choose, that's what makes our interest of pop always good. d
